The rules of the register

Terms of use

Last updated: [OMAR: set publication date]

To complete before launch: the operator's legal name / entity, registered address, and contact email. These terms are a starting point and should be reviewed by counsel before you rely on them.

These terms cover your use of Pactlet, operated by [OMAR: legal name / entity], [OMAR: registered address] ("we", "us"). By using Pactlet you agree to them.

A record, not a contract

Pactlet is a neutral, shared record of what two sides say they agreed — not a legal contract, not a signature, and not legal advice. Creating or approving a record on Pactlet does not, by itself, form a binding contract, and Pactlet never takes a side or decides who is right. If two sides disagree, both versions are kept side by side and the record can close "unresolved."

Accounts

Only senders hold an account, and sign in without a password (an email link or Google). Keep access to your inbox secure — anyone with it can sign in as you. The other side never needs an account. You can stop using Pactlet at any time.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Pactlet to:

Pactlet sends in its own neutral name and never from your email domain. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules or that we reasonably believe is being abused.

Pricing

Your first 3 Pactlets are free, and it is always free for the other side. €3.99 per Pactlet is the announced price after that; during early access there is nothing to pay. Drafts are always free. We'll give notice before charging begins.

The service is provided "as is"

We work to keep Pactlet reliable, but it is provided "as is" without warranties. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which, during free early access, may be nil). Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms and will move the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use Pactlet means you accept the update.

Law and venue

These terms are governed by the law of Belgium, and disputes fall to the competent courts of Belgium [OMAR: confirm the specific court/venue], unless mandatory consumer-protection law gives you a different forum.
